Yobe Amirul Hajj Submits Report To Gaidam

Deputy Chairman of Yobe State Council of Chiefs, Alhaji Abubakar Suleiman, has again appealed to the federal and state governments to end the six-year Boko Haram insurgency in the North East region.

The monarch made the call while presenting the 2014 Amirul Hajj Team report to Governor Ibrahim Gaidam at the Government House, Damaturu.

Suleiman said no meaningful development could take place without peace.

The lingering insurgency has claimed the lives of many people and destroyed large number of properties in Yobe State and five neighbourng ones in the North East since it began many years ago.

“The 11-member Amirul Hajj Committee prayed Al-mighty Allah to quickly put a permanent stop to the insecurity currently being faced in the state and for Allah (SWT) to quickly answer our coordinated special prayers for everlasting and enduring peace and tranquility.

“I will not submit this report without extending the appreciation of the entire 2014 pilgrims of Yobe State to Your Excellency’s purposeful support, generosity and above all, your commitments to serve God and humanity,” Suleiman said.

He said to further improve on hajj exercises in the country and Saudi Arabia, this year and 2016 commencements of airlift of pilgrims be carried out early and on schedules.

The monarch said: “After the successful completion of our assignment we made some deep and analytical observations and recommendations to government as embodied in our report to improve on the conduct of future Hajj operations in this state.
