Wikki Defeats Ifeanyi Uba In Nnewi

High-flying IfeanyiUba Football Club of Nnewi on Sunday, lost 0-1 to visiting Wikki Tourists.

Playing 13 matches, winning 7, drawing two and losing four, while occupying the fourth spot before this match, the Nnewi-based side promised a lot and delivered nothing at the end of the match, as Tourists’ 77th minute goal through Chukwudi Samuel’s effort gave the visitors the lead.

In Kano, champions, Kano Pillars, surrendered its two-goal lead to draw 2-2 with visiting Dolphins of Port Harcourt. Consequently, fans of Pillars booed their team, while raining thunderous applause on the visitors.

In Yenagoa, homers, Bayelsa United made its home count, as it defeated visiting Kwara United 2-0. Akwa United, meanwhile, started its abode at Nest of Champions with a home draw against Warri Wolves, as Super Eagles striker, Gbolahan Salami equalised for Wolves in the second half.

Enyimba continued its fine run with a 2-0 victory over visiting Nasarawa United in Aba. In Jos, Giwa FC trounced El-Kanemi Warriors 3-1, while Lobi Stars won Abia Warriors 2-0. Sharks of Port Harcourt shared the spoil with visiting Heartland of Owerri with a 1-1 draw.
