RIVERS State governor, Nyesom Wike, has sacked the General Manager of Rivers State Broadcasting Corporation, Ms Mediline Tador.

In a statement signed by the governor’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Opunabo Inko-Tariah, Sampson Febresima, takes over immediately as the corporation’s General Manager.

Febresima was the Zonal Manager of Silverbird Television and Radio Port Harcourt until his resignation months ago. No reasons were stated for Tador’s sack.

Tador was a one-time the state’s Commissioner for Information and a former Editor with the defunct Daily Times in Lagos.

The new GM’s wife, Mrs Florence Fibresima of the Ministry of Justice was last week appointed Secretary of Judicial Commission of Inquiry that would investigate Governor Chibuike Amaechi.

Fiberisima stint with the Silverbird Radio and Television led to the growth of the station in the region, making it a toast of its listeners in Rivers State and environs. The reason for his resignation some months ago is unclear.

He is expected to bring his wealth of experience to state-owned Radio Rivers.
