Frenchman Paul Le Guen, rejected Super Eagles’ coaching job because of the terms and conditions contained in the contractual agreement.
Le Guen, who was recommended on Monday by the Technical Committee of the Nigeria Football Federation( NFF), as the team’s Technical Adviser, rejected the job on Tuesday.
A top French journalist, Herve Penot, on his Twitter handle, tweeted: “Paul le Guen will not go to Nigeria. Conditions not met to be coach. Nothing to do with the selection.”
Prompt News Online gathered that Le Guen turned down the offer because the contract states in part that he must reside in Nigeria throughout the period of the contract should he accept the offer.
He is also mandated to qualify Nigeria for the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia.
Our correspondent learnt that these conditions did not go down well with him.
Le Guen is also said not to be happy with the fact that the NFF drafted the contractual agreement without carrying along his agent.
We gathered that a former French Coach and now adviser to the Olympic Lyon, Gerald Honulier, also advised Le Guen against accepting the offer.
Also interviewed for the top Eagles job were Belgian tactician, Tom Saintfiet, and Nigeria’s Salisu Yusuf.
