West Bromwich Albion has officially announced that Victor Anichebe has been released by the club.
The Baggies have also confirmed that Stephane Sessegnon has also been released; a development which means that both players are now free agents after their contracts at The Hawthorns expired at the end of the season.
Both Anichebe and Sessegnon arrived at the club in 2013, with Sessegnon making 92 appearances, scoring eight goals, while Anichebe scored nine times in 63 outings.
The Baggies actually smashed their transfer record when they signed Sessegnon, parting amount in excess of £6.5m for the Benin Republic attacker.
Head coach, Tony Pulis, told the club’s official website: “The two lads worked really hard for me and were as good as gold. Everybody at the club wishes them all the best in their future careers.”
West Brom is looking forward for a big shape up in its ranks as it targets a better outing next season having only finished 14th with 43 points in the just ended campaign
At the moment, some Championship teams are reportedly showing interest in Anichebe and top among the teams is Birmingham City.
