Following the 1-1 draw Enyimna played in Umuahia against Heartland of Owerri, captain of the Nigerian champions, Chinedu Udoji, has posited that his side would approach the week 14 match against Lobi in Umuahia with a different mentality. Speaking on Friday ahead of the encounter against the Makurdi side, Udoji said that Enyimba never planned to draw the match in Umuahia, saying Heartland played well to deserve the draw. “It was really unfortunate that we drew the Heartland match, but then that is football for you. I will not say we did not play well; it was only that Heartland equally played well,” he said. “But I will tell you one thing, all that we have at the back of our mind against Lobi is victory and nothing less than that. No match is easy really, but we want to cover lost grounds so we are not going to allow what happened against Heartland happen against Lobi,” Udoji said. Enyimba remains second from bottom on the league table with 13 points from nine matches, even though the CAF Champions League campaigner has four outstanding matches. Lobi, on the other hand, is fifth on the table having played 13 matches and accumulated 21 points. The Makurdi outfit heads to Enyimba on the back of a 1-0 home win over Niger Tornadoes.
