Gernot Rohr, Super Eagles coach, has expressed satisfaction with the national team after they overcame Tanzania in an Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier in Uyo on Saturday.

Rohr, however, said that the technical crew would work on the team’s attack and precision in front of goals before the former African champions begin their 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifiers away to Zambia in October.

Speaking to reporters on Sunday on the match that was marred by missed goal-scoring opportunities by the home team, the coach said that the team’s overall display was impressive, promising a better team in the course of events.

“They played very well even though the goals refused to come. The Tanzanians, you will realize, did not come to Nigeria to play; they have their own game plans and would still have wanted to win the match.

“Sometimes luck plays out in this kind of match and their goalkeeper was very fantastic yesterday. But one thing is sure; we are going to work on the team’s attack before we play Zambia in the World Cup qualifier.

“I know we could have won the match with wider margin but for the chances we missed,” Rohr said.

Super Eagles wasted a lot of scoring chances on Saturday but had Kelechi Iheanacho’s 78th minute stunner to thank for Nigeria’s lone goal, which ultimately decided the match for the national team.

The Super Eagles take on Zambia in Ndola on October 8 in a World Cup qualifier, with Algeria and Cameroon lurking behind for Nigeria ahead of possible qualification.
