The administration of President Muhammadu Buhari has got further assurance of support from the Christian community in the country in his quest to live up to the campaign promises of his party, the All Progressives Congress (APC) to bring about positive change to Nigeria.

The Most Reverend Nicholas Okoh, the Primate of Church of Nigeria, Anglican Communion, and Archbishop of Abuja province, expressed the church’s support shortly after a meeting with the president at the Aso Villa, Abuja on Friday.

He said the church was disturbed by the reported clashes between farmers and herdsmen, vandalism of the country’s oil infrastructure and insecurity in parts of the country.

“We are all looking for solutions to issues of (Killer) herdsmen; we are looking for solutions on the issue of vandalism, the issue of security one way or the other because the people are asking us.

“And we want to have explanations for the people whom we lead.

“He gave us detailed explanation of what he is doing to ensure that these things are solved.

“So, we have hope; we have a message for our people,” he said.

The archbishop also expressed satisfaction with the efforts the Buhari administration to overcome the country’ s many challenges.

“We pray that this administration will succeed in all its projects, its programmes and plans to transform Nigeria to a better place.

“We have many detractors, some are hiding, some are known; some are not known, we pray that you change their minds,” Okoh said.
