Gbenga Ogunbote, coach of embattled Giwa FC, has saidd that his side would honour its week 15 clash against Abia Warriors in Umuahia. He said the Jos-based side is poised to do well in the current season. Speaking ahead of the match, which comes up 4pm on Sunday, Ogunbote said despite what the team has passed through, he was sure that it would get it right in Umuahia. “We are going to play against Abia Warriors in Umuahia,” he said. “There is nothing to fear about the match because we are going to play. You know Giwa FC has been doing well and it is one of the steady clubs in the league. “I know so many people are talking of possible banishment from the league, but we are not relenting because we have come to stay in the top flight. “Our chairman means well for us so we are going to play against Abia Warriors,” he said. Giwa FC is a match away from a possible banishment from the top flight after missing its ‘home’ game against Wikki Tourists in Ilorin last week. The LMC statutes states that missing two consecutive matches without any genuine reason attracts banishment from the league’s topflight.
