WAAGA, AGS To Organise Golf Workshop

The forthcoming 1st West and Central Africa Golf Clubs Championship billed for the Le-Meridien Hotel and Golf Resort, Uyo, Akwa Ibom State will feature a three-day workshop for participants on golf development.

The workshop which will take place from April 27-May 2, 2016 is under the aegis of West Africa Amateur Golf Association (WAAGA) and the Africa Golf Summit (AGS).

According to WAAGA Secretary General, Abel Edinomo, who spoke to Independent during the week the three-day workshop will focus on key issues to move the game of golf to the next level in the West Africa sub-region and beyond.

To develop a strategy for Africa Golf solution and save cost; Public / Private partnership strategy for youth golf enterprise development; leverage golf as a niche tourism product to grow domestic and international tourism; Build and sustain the positive impact from golf industry on local communities by means of development; Develop the required skill that drives enterprise development and job creation opportunities and Education in all allied Golf business.

The resource persons according to Edinomo who is also a member of the AGS for the workshop and training are as follows are Silver Lakes Academy, Golf Consultants Association, Africa Golf Summit Members and South Africa Tourism Board among others
