Unity Bank Plans Agric Branch In Abuja, To Relocate To Lagos

Unity Bank has said it will relocate its head office from Abuja to Victoria Island before the end of 2015 just as it plans to build a branch purposely meant for agriculture, which is one of the bank’s strategic focuses.

Managing Director of the bank, Mr. Henry Semenitari disclosed this known during the bank’s facts behind the figures of presentation to stockbroker community yesterday in Lagos.  He said the agric branch will mainly focus on agric and its ancillary components.

His words: “I am happy to inform you that we are relocating our headquarters to Lagos before the end of the year. We are currently putting finishing touches to the building which is located along Ahmed Onibudo Street, Victoria Island. Secondly, our new specialized branch, which will be only for agriculture will soon be commissioned in Abuja.

“By the time we commission the agric branch in a month’s time, we will be the only bank in the country that will be doing that in the country. This is to show how important we take agric”.

He told shareholders that the bank came from a loss position of N33.64 billion in 2013 to N13.6 billion profit before tax in 2014.

He envisaged that the bank is expected to continue in the foreseeable future.

“Our growth strategy is strictly that of operational efficiency derived from our business model and strategic intent”.
