One of the three prominent Nigerians bestowed with honourary degrees by the University of Lagos (UNILAG), Deacon Gamaliel Onasode has called on Nigerians to give constructive supports to their leaders.
Responding shortly after his decoration with a honourary Doctor of Letters degree, the former Chancellor of the university urged Nigerian to remain steadfast by abstaining from corruption for the country to continue to enjoy the mercy of God.

Deacon Onosode in his own words said, “One of the problems with our society is that we don’t have enough people who are willing to say to the boss, whether the boss is the chairman or managing director, but sir have you considered this.”
The absence of such by subordinates he stated, “Automatically leads to lowering standards and at the end of the day what you have is the problem of corruption. Nigeria has enjoyed the mercy of God and will continue if we remain faithful we will continue to have the mercy of God,” he added.

Also General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye honoured with honourary Causa as Doctor of Science expressed appreciation to his Alma Mata describing the institution as the bedrock of all the successes he had achieved in life.

“Today by the divine grace of God, I have become the first and probably the only one to hold three postgraduate degrees of the University of Lagos.

“M.sc in 1971, Ph.D in 1974 and today D.SC in 2015; now the first two post graduate degrees were the ones I worked for while the third one is a gift to me. And so I am very grateful,” he added.
