The UN Population Fund (UNFPA) on Thursday in Maiduguri launched the distribution of 10,000 dignity kits to survivors of insurgency in Adamawa, Borno and Yobe.

The UN agency also distributed 144 comprehensive reproductive health kits to medical facilities, including clinics in the Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) camps to respond to their reproductive health needs.

Presenting the items to Gov. Kashim Shettima, the UN Resident Coordinator, Ms Fatma Samoura, said the new round of distribution was with the support of the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID).

Samoura, who lamented the poor access of women and girls in IDPs camps to reproductive health services, said UNFPA would provide essential reproductive health services to 4.5 million insurgency victims.
