Ugwuanyi Promises To Alleviate Sufferings Of Less Privileged

Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu State has reiterated his administration’s commitment to alleviate the sufferings of the less privileged in the society and the needy in order to give them a sense of belonging in the scheme of things.
The Governor disclosed this in Enugu during the 5th Anniversary and graduation ceremony for the skills acquisition students and dedication of the Resource and Recreational Centre for the blind and visually impaired, founded by a non-governmental organization, Bina Foundation.
Gov. Ugwuanyi noted that his presence at the event was to specifically identify with his “special friends”, the less privileged who he described as the true heroes of democracy, assuring them of the support of Enugu State Government at all times.
He commended the founders of the organization, Sir and Lady Chris Atuegwu for their kind gesture towards the physically challenged people and the needy in the state and called on other rich and well-meaning Nigerians to emulate their good works to make the world a better place.
Earlier in her welcome address, the President of the Foundation, Pharm. Lady Ifeoma Atuegwu who commended Gov. Ugwuanyi for his uncommon care for the downtrodden, expressed gratitude to God for His inspiration which enable her and other co-founders to dedicate their service towards ameliorating the pains and sufferings of the poor and needy.
She stated that the foundation which started in 2010 has recorded remarkable achievements for their target groups, which include the physically challenged, the blind and visually impaired, deaf and mute, the aged, motherless and abandoned babies, orphans and vulnerable children, among others.
Other dignitaries who attended the event include, the Honourable Minister of Labour and Employment, Dr. Chris Ngige, the Archbishop of Enugu Province and Bishop of Enugu Diocese (Anglican Communion), Most Rev. Dr. Emmanuel Chukwuma, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Roban group and Chairman of the Ocassion, Sir. Rob Anwatu, amongst others.
