Ughelli – The traditional ruler of Ughelli Kingdom, HRM (Dr.) Wilson Ojakovo, Oharisi III, Ovie of Ughelli Kingdom, recently celebrated his 63rd years birthday in a colourful ceremony with dignitaries across the state in attendance.

The monarch who also gave out traditional chieftaincy titles to six persons to mark the anniversary held in the palace church, Otovwodo, Ughelli, prayed to God to make his reign a very peaceful one.

Speaking during the celebration, the monarch said that  the thanksgiving  was a special one because it was the first time he celebrated his birthday.

He noted that the month of April was his month of celebration as he was born in April, coronated in April and became strong in the Lord also in the month of April.

The monarch conferred chieftaincy titles on the President General of Afiesere Community, Chief Emmanuel Shikaleke, as the Udidi r’Ovie of Ughelli Kingdom, head teacher of SS Peter and Paul Primary School, Chief Wilfred E. A. Ovuorayevbie, as the Uri R’Ovie of Ughelli Kingdom, Chief (Mrs.) Charity Ovuorayevbie, as the Ayeverere R’ Ovie of Ughelli Kingdom, Chief (Rev.) Richard Erhurhore as the Ekuvwike R’ Ovie of Ughelli Kingdom and two others.

He said that the gesture was to encourage them for their developmental strides in the society and called on the people to give their lives to God in order for them to be good ambassadors of Ughelli kingdom.

Responding on behalf of the newly conferred chiefs, Chief Ovuorayevbie thanked the traditional ruler and chiefs of Ughelli Kingdom for the recognition and honour done to them and  promised  to be good ambassadors of the great ancient Ughelli Kingdom.
