Delta State Governor, Dr Emmanuel Uduaghan, has commended his predecessor, Chief James Ibori, for his vision in establishing the Delta State Polytechnic, Oghara, in the area, as well as other polytechnics and colleges of educations across the state during his time in office.

He described Ibori as a man with vision for the people.

Uduaghan who was a special guest at the maiden combined convocation of the polytechnic, also commended the management for recognising the past Governor with an award during the event, and for their outstanding effort in developing the school infrastructure, especially with their own internally generated revenue.

“I want to congratulate the Rector and staff of the school for making it a technocrat for people to emulate and the community for their contributions.”

He also commended the institution for the recognition of various awardees, especially the past Governor of the state “and we pray he will be back soon so that there can be better celebration”.

Uduaghan also urged the management of the polytechnic to make the convocation ceremony an annual event, “so that it does not accumulate like this one”.

In the same vein, the Commissioner representing Ethiope West and Okpe on the board of DESSOPADEC, Mr. Henry Ofa, also commended the Rector of the Polytechnic Dr E.C. Sogbaike, for being able to use IGR to establish the over nine structures which were commissioned by the Governor on that day.
