Ubulu-Uku Youths Hold Special Day in Lagos

In order to enhance the socio-economic development of their community, Ubulu-Uku youths,  Anioma area of Delta State, resident in Lagos, are staging a special day during which the economic potentials of the area would be discussed. 

The special day themed ‘New Growth Agenda for Empowerment and Poverty Alleviation in Anioma’ will hold this Saturday in Lagos, during which it would unveil its new fully featured community website. www.udu-youth.org

Also, the youths will use the occasion to gather sons and daughters of the community resident in Lagos for common goal of  creating an enabling environment for the  growth and prosperity of the Ubulu-Uku community and it’s environ.

President of the Association, Mr. Iyiegbuniwe Ben in a statement said: “One of the cardinal objectives of the association is to encourage Ubulu – Uku youths to participate in the socio-economic and cultural development of the Ubulu – Uku people.’

Furthermore, he said the special day ‘would feature seminars and papers exploring investment and job opportunities in its hometown.

The chairperson of the occasion is Dr. (Mrs) Gloria Elemo, Director General, Federal Institute of Industrial Research and Guest speakers at the event include: Dr. Chris Ogbechie, chairman, Diamond Bank Plc;  Sam Ifeozo, chairman, Modern Business Machines; Chris Aligbe, Aviation consultant and Chief Executive Officer, Belujane Konsult Limited; Dr. Tony Iweka, Architect and Lecturer at the University of Lagos;  and Patrick Ukah, social entrepreneur and sport consultant.

The Youth Association would also unveil its community website designed strategically to enhance the quality and availability of information to members and also showcase the community development initiatives in Anioma.
