With the aim to mobilize Nigerians  to take actions that protect women and  children before they are harmed, ‘The Psychologist’ recently went into a working Partnership with TY Danjuma Foundation –  The foundation whose vision is of a country where all people have access to quality healthcare, education and equal  opportunity to realize their full potentials.

The Partnership was announced during the 6th TYDF Grantees Training exercise      which was held in the peaceful and natural setting of Goshen Guest House, Goshen city, Nasarawa State.

Speaking at the occasion, TYDF Executive Director Dr. Florence Etta-Akin Aina thanked the founder, General T. Y. Danjuma (rtd.) GCON, for his vision in setting up the TYDF and touching the lives of ordinary Nigerians.

Dr. Etta said: “This year’s Internally Displaced Persons are the special focus of our support.  All the project in the 2015 cycle are been implemented in IDP camps within the FCT, Taraba and Edo states.  This is not the first time the Foundation is living up to its value of “sensitivity and responsiveness.

In 2011, TY Danjuma Foundation responded to national (flood) disaster in Kogi and Edo State, in December 2014 the Foundation provided relief materials to IDP camps in Taraba State.”

Dr. Etta believes ‘The Psychologist On The Move’ and TY Danjuma Foundation IDP Camps partnership is a breath of fresh air and it will help address the mental & sexual health issues within the IDP camps.

Responding, Tricia Eseigbe Kerry thanked TYDF for selecting ‘The Psychologist On The Move’ as one of its partners for the 2015 IDP camps peculiar intervention, stating that ‘The Psychologist’ will embark on  Women Rape/ Child Sexual Abuse Advocacy meetings and Psychological First Aid Section Tour within IDP camps.

Believing at the end of the tour, the TYDF/Psychologist intervention will help to educate IDP camps women/ children on how to stay safe and help to build self esteem and confidence of victims of rape and sexual abuse within the IDP camps.
