A man in his middle age, Jonathan Agwu, was at the weekend, electrocuted at Agba Abor Isu in Onicha Local Government Area of Ebonyi  State.

It was gathered that the victim was electrocuted when he attempted to climb over a high tension KVA jumper line that was isolated by Ebonyi Electricity Distribution Company (EDDC) as he joined the engineers to trace a fault.

Speaking on the incident, the Public Relations Officer of EDDC in Ebonyi, Lazarus Chiedozie Onyearugbulam, however said that the victim was not a staff of the company.

“The man went to do our work; he decided to turn himself into EDDC staff by force by climbing up to jumper line that was isolated by the company to help them to trace where there is fault.

“So he went to jumper it on his own, a 33KVA high tension line and unfortunately he paid the ultimate price,” he said.

The deceased, according to sources, was said to be a native of Umufu village, Amanato in Isu but was not known to be an EDDC staff in the state.
