President of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Amaju Pinnick, has said that contrary to reports that the Super Falcons may not attract big personalities due to its abysmal performance during the last FIFA Women World Cup in Canada, world-class coaches are jostling to tinker the team.

Speaking during a live programme on Brila FM, Pinnick said he is cock-sure that the Falcons has enough arsenal to defeat Equatorial Guinea in Bata, assuring that Nigerians have nothing to fear.

“We have the materials to win the match in Bata.  There is nothing to fear. My experience with an experienced Italian coach can confirm this.

“She told me clearly that she would like to coach Nigeria because we have the material to win the world cup.

“She said Falcons has the material to win the Olympics and even the world cup. So I am very much sure that Nigeria will triumph over Equatorial Guinea on their soil.”

It would be recalled that the Falcons was held to a drab 1-1 draw with its Equatorial Guinea counterpart last week to box itself in a tight corner going into the second leg in Bata.

So many Nigerians are pessimistic of the chances of Falcons in the match coming up on Sunday. Their pessimism is hinged on the fact that Equatorial Guinea has risen to be Nigeria’s main challenger in female football in Africa.
