Henry Ajomale, chairman, Lagos State chapter of All Progressives Congress (APC) has stated that Bola Tinubu, former governor of Lagos State as a democrat, has the right to support any of the aspirants of his choice  in the forthcoming Ondo State governorship primary slated for August 27.
Ajomale was reacting to the accusation by Dr. Tunji Abayomi one of the aspirants that Tinubu is working towards imposing his choice candidate on the people.
But the APC chairman described such allegation as baseless since Tinubu has not asked him or any aspirant to step down for his preferred choice.
He said, “Asiwaju is not an Ondo man, Asiwaju is not going to contest the election, why is he accusing him, as a democrat he has right to support whoever he want.
“If at the end of the primary whoever emerged, Asiwaju has no choice but to support the candidate of the party.”
Instead of accusing Asiwaju of supporting a particular aspirant, Ajomale urged all aspirants to go about canvassing for delegates votes.
“I advise those aspirants accusing Asiwaju to use the remaining days in canvassing for the votes of delegates because whoever emerge winner would be the choice of the party and Asiwaju has no choice but to support that person.”
Ajomale who described conducting the forthcoming primary a herculean task because of the large number of aspirants urged all aspirants to concentrate on how to win the primary instead of blaming people for their failure.
“I foresee a situation where the winner of the election would be by a slim margin because the votes would be divided among 24 aspirants.
“I thought they could have reduced the number of aspirants to two or three but since all of them have collected the form, it impossible to do that now. They all have to exercise their rights of contesting for the primary”.
