Three In Court For Allegedly Stealing Indomie

Three men, John Thomas, 26; Godwin Unung, 20; and Ade Samuel, who allegedly stole packs of indomie, eggs and other items valued at N33, 000, were on Tuesday arraigned before a Tinubu Magistrates’ Court in Lagos.

The accused persons are facing a two-count charge bothering on theft.

The Prosecutor, Insp. Richard Odigie, told the court that the accused committed the offences on March 16 at about 1 am at Babatunde Anjos Street, Lekki Phase 1 in Lagos.

Odigie said the accused stole items such as packs of indomie, four crates of eggs, tins of Milo, milk, and Gas cooker and cylinder belonging to a food seller, Shedrack Ekuma.

He said that the accused entered into Ekuma’s stall and stole the items valued at N33, 000.
the prosecutor said the offences contravened Sections 285 and 409 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011.

The accused, however, pleaded not guilty.

The Magistrate, Mr L.A. Owolabi, granted each of the accused N50, 000 bail with two sureties each in like sum and that the sureties must be blood relation to the accused.

The case was adjourned to April 13.
