Teenage Pregnancies In Ekiti Worry Fayose’s Wife

Worried with the huge number of teenage pregnancies  in most parts of the state,  Wife of Ekiti State Governor,Mrs Feyisetan Fayose has charged parents and guardians to monitor their wards and child.
Mrs Fayose has equally charged  pregnant women to always register in hospitals for their ante natal care,saying they should stop relying solely on the traditional birth attendants and mission homes
Mrs Fayose who was speaking at Efon Alaaye yesterday in continuation of her tour to the 16 local government areas of the state ,said the trend must stop in the state
“Parents and guardians must monitor their girl child over the rate young girls are being pregnant on daily basis,this bad habit has to stop in our locality
“The young girls must be discouraged from running after men,it is not good for their future,it may ruin their future
”In the process of engaging in unguarded
sexual act,you may be transmitted with any dangerous disease
The first lady of the state had since the commencement of the tour  distributed Mama Kits and specialized milks to the pregnant women in the state
Mrs Fayose has equally distributed school bags,uniforms and sandals to some indigent students in the state
in Moba,Oye ,Ilejemeje,Ijero,Ekiti West and Efon local government areas respectively
Explaining the danger involving in patronising mission homes,Mrs Fayose said it will be a little bit difficult
difficult fot health officials to promptly attend to them when having cases of complications during the period of delivery of new born babies
The Governor’s wife equally urged women who are in the reproductive stage  to embrace family planning and child spacing in order to stay healthy and adequately cater for their children’s needs

The distribution exercise in each local government featured health talk from Dietitians.
