The Former Chief of Staff to Governor Isa Yuguda,  Shehu Musa Gabam, has attributed the defeat of Yuguda  in the last general election to  sycophancy  and eye service.

Gabam, a Former Governorship candidate in 2011 under the defunct ANPP, who spoke to journalists in Bauchi on Sunday, also attributed the failure of the People Democratic Party (PDP) at all levels  to  arrogance by the party leaders who took the electorate for granted.

He said “When a man allow sycophancy to take over his sense of direction and sense of  responsibility then the fundamental issue is that large majority of people suffer for it ; so, sycophancy and eyes service killed the administration”

Gabam  lambasted Yuguda for his visionless and colourless administration, and for mismanaging the democratic process and the politicians themselves, that clearly indicate what happen, because upto 90 percent of the citizens came out to vote.

According to him, “I am a carreer politician, I had to leave that administration and forge ahead, because I foresee the administration is heading towards crash with the type of people he was surrounded with”

Gabam who is currently a PDP Chieftain said “party leaders should be held responsible for the failure of the party at all levels in the just concluded general election.”

“Those  leaders that are invested with the responsibilities of running the party from the chairman to down are more of Business oriented people than democrat and when you have people that are business oriented  that are interest oriented  ruling a political party they may not understand the dynamic that are involves”

“They may not  see the critical role s voter or electorate  can play on a day of election or it matters around or it revolves around individuals that have money, it doesn’t goes that way”

“The era of impunity has gone people must accept the country belongs to every body but the lesson is not just for PDP alone, but all the political parties in the country”.
