Samson Siasia, the U-23 coach, has revealed that the Suwon Tournament in South Korea will help determine which players make it to the Rio Olympics.
The team arrived Suwon, South Korea on Tuesday venue of four nation tournament involving Korea, Nigeria, Denmark and Honduras.
Siasia said that his boys cannot afford to be complacent if they dream of a place in his Olympic team.
“We have been practicing all this while to ensure that the players know exactly the way we want them to play, the discipline level and getting to understand the team,” Siasia said.
“You know that these guys are from different clubs apart from the ones that have been playing with us for a very long time now; they know exactly how we want them to play.
“But the new ones that are coming in have to understand the way we play and that is where the problem is for now. That is the essence of having these friendly games and tournament like the Suwon tourney to see how the new players can understand playing with the ones we have here before.
“So we will see after those three games in Korea; we will know exactly the players that will be with us and the ones that we will have to bring in if we need to bring in some other guys.
“Thank God we still have a month to test players in our camping in England and in the United States of America after we might have come back from the Korea tournament,” he concluded.
