Suswam’s Wife Warns Against Politicisation Of Own Pet Project

Wife of immediate past governor of Benue state, Yemisi Dooshima Suswam has warned against the politicization of SEV-AV Foundation and pledged to partner with government in it’s bid to bring about advancement and development to the less privileged people of the state.

SEV AV, the pet project of the immediate past first lady is a Non Governmental Organization (NGO) committed to adding value to people ravaged by HIV/AIDS, as well as empowering youths and women towards self reliance.

Yemisi Suswam made the declaration at the 9th graduation ceremony of 70 participants of SEV-AV skills acquisition center in Makurdi, the Benue state capital on Wednesday.

While she described the ceremony, the first since the end of the Gabriel Suswam administration as a litmus test of its sincerity and commitment to the development of youth and women in the state she warned against the politicizing of the organization noted that SEV-AV is meant for the overall benefit of humanity.

The former first lady noted that the graduation has proved wrong “doubting Thomases” who were pessimistic that the NGO would not outlive the previous administration and discouraged students from enrolling for the programme shortly after the Suswam administration.

Suswam who appreciated the 70 graduands for keeping faith with the NGO pledge to partner with any government interested in the meaningful development of its people.

She also advised parents to enroll their idle children to take advantage of the skill acquisition centers spread across the state so as to keep them busy and empower them.

Participants graduated in computer, catering, fashion/tailoring among other trades.
