Startimes Does It Again, Launches Fox Life

Urban contemporary entertainment channel owned by Fox Networks Group (FNG) and customised for Africa, has been launched on StarTimes channel.
The new stylish channel which is meant to boost the digital television’s growing entertainment portfolio and spice up viewers experience with flamboyant programming, came on board on Tuesday, October 4, 2016.
Head of Public Relations, Mr. Bolaji Israel said the digital network is excited to further enrich its entertainment and lifestyle menu for improved viewers pleasure with the launch of FOX Life, adding that it is part of an impressive FNG catalogue of channels in Africa, including FOX, National Geographic Channel and Nat Geo Wild, all available on StarTimes.
“The new channel would add a touch of magic to viewers experience and enhance memorable TV experience with quality programming including interesting television series, dramas, sitcoms, shows and movies, among others which include some original programming in Africa. It will showcase latest and compelling Hollywood, Brazilian and African programs including 2016 blockbuster ‘Real Housewives of Atlanta,’ ‘America’s Next Top Model,’ ‘Clean House’ and others.’’
He explained that the channel offers StarTimes subscribers a global entertainment appeal with an interesting blend of lifestyle programmes for local and international scripted and non-scripted content.
“Asides its array of Hollywood, African and Brazilian series, it is introducing Turkish telenovelas to Nigeria. It also showcases Africa centric programs and considerations with localised content, focuses on socially relevant positive and local story telling, thereby creating an undisputed perfect home and port of call for young aspirational viewers in Africa especially female,’’ Bolaji noted.
Similarly, Marketing Director, Oludare Kafar, remarked that the new addition is another step in the digital TV network provider’s quest to continuously enrich content, grant subscribers more value and offer refreshing and enjoyable TV experience.
“With Pan-African content, the channel focuses on localised storytelling with the best of Hollywood created specifically for African viewers.’’
