Flying Eagles midfielder, Kingsley Sokari has revealed that signing for Esperance is only a stepping stone to achieving greater success in his football career.

Sokari signed a three years deal with Esperance on Monday after a two-year stint with Enyimba. He was part of the U-20 team that featured at the just concluded FIFA U-20 World Cup in New Zealand.

In a chat with Daily Independent, he said that playing for Esperance would improve his game and also project his football to a higher level.

“I feel so delighted to have signed a new contract with Esperance and I believed that it’s by God’s mercy. For me, this is just the beginning of my career and I am really looking forward to meeting my new teammates.

“I always have this believe that when your time comes nothing will stop you from getting to your dream land. I really want to thank God for everything he’s been doing in my life and I pray to excel at Esperance.” he said.

Sokari will always be remembered for his thunderbolt goal against North Korea in Nigeria’s 4-0 whitewash of the Asian team in the group stage of the FIFA U-20 World Cup.
