Slot Controls 48% Nigeria Phone Retail Market, Unveils, App

A GFK report for the organised smartphone market share tipped Slot to control 48 per cent market share in 2014. Even as Slot Systems Limited, last weekend unveiled website and Mobile app.

Speaking at the unveiling ceremony, Engr. Nnamdi Ezeigbo, Group Managing Director, Slot Systems Limited, said the gesture falls in line with its vision to bridge information gap in the global information technology (phone sales, specifications, prices, etc.) with emphasis on the Nigeria market.

He noted that as an indigenous company with penchant interest in offering best services to its customers, they decided to bring their services closer to the people through online channels.

Ezeigbo said that Slot has carefully studied the life style of Nigerians, which has helped them in designing different products they have rolled out in the past.

He said that the online platforms would enable them bring their 50 retails stores to the doorsteps of their customers.

Aside the online platforms, Slot introduced Trade-in and Screen Insurance programmes for the customers.

With the Screen Insurance, Mr. Ezeigbo said, their customers can insure can insure your phone screen at just 5 per cent of the cost.

Speaking superficially on the newly launched online platforms, Ezeigbo said, “For us, it is about service that is efficient. It’s about value with emphasis on cost saving. This is the right time to go online”.

“Over the years, we have contributed immensely to the growth of the smartphone market by making smartphone available and at affordable prices.

He declared the Company’s unrelenting desires to bringing good services, cost saving initiatives and provide shopping experience whether offline or online.

“As an indigenous Company, we don’t just sell phones, we provide first class after-sales support that is incomparable in any Western African information technology sector”.

Slot System limited was incorporated in 1998 and started importation of computer accessories the same year.

As a visionary company, it switched over to mobile telecommunication services in 2001 and has remained the toast of global brands like MTN, Airtel, Glo, Etisalat, Nokia (now Lumia), Samsung, BlackBerry, Tecno, Apple Huawei, LG, among others.
