‘Sirigu Won’t Leave PSG’

Salvatore Sirigu’s agent insists the Italy international will not leave Paris Saint-Germain this summer despite the arrival of Kevin Trapp in the French capital.

Sirigu, 28, jetted off with the rest of the PSG squad on Wednesday for its preseason tour of North America where he is likely to find himself behind Trapp in coach Laurent Blanc’s goalkeeping plans.

Valencia is reportedly considering a move for Sirigu, who is under contract at PSG until 2018.

However, his agent, Carlo Pallavicino, told Radio Olympia the former Palermo man’s heart remains in Paris.

“He feels very good in Paris. He’s been the best goalkeeper in the French league for the last three years,” Pallavicino said.

“Offers and approaches are the order of the day, because we’re talking about a major element of the Squadra Azzurra’s defence. But as I have said before, PSG have no intention of letting him go.”

Pallavicino’s words contradict those of PSG’s deputy sporting director, Olivier Letang, who stated at Trapp’s official unveiling earlier this week that Sirigu would be able to leave the Ligue 1 champions if he was unhappy with the signing of 25-year-old Trapp from Eintracht Frankfurt.
