Asaba – The crisis rocking the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has assumed a new twist in Delta State, following the inauguration of wards’ chairmen across the state by the faction of Senator Ali-Modu Sheriff.

This came barely 48 hours after Chief Austine Ogbaburhon, the party’s factional chairman in the state, flanked by Dr. Cairo Ojougboh, the Deputy National Chairman of his group, sworn-in senatorial and 25 council chairmen at Agbor.

At the inauguration of factional wards’ executives in Asaba Sunday, Hon. Dada Okolo, the factional council chairman of the party, supported by Hon. Jude Okafor, his Secretary, tasked them to discharge their duties without fear or favour, charging them to resist any attempt to foist them into playing a second fiddle in the affairs of the party in the state.

He said, “Since what I have performed is within the ambit of our party constitution, don’t be intimidated by the antics of our opponents, because you are the authentic executives of our great party.”

Unperturbed, Ogbaburhon said his councils and wards officials were duly elected and they remained the authentic PDP executives in the state, maintaining that, “By the grace of God, we will pull our weight in Delta State by 2019 as the authentic PDP.”

However, the state executives of Chief Kingsley Esiso, the faction being supported by Governor Ifeanyi Okowa, has described the faction as unserious.
