Sharks Not In Hurry For New Coach

Information from Sharks FC of Port Harcourt has revealed that the club will employ a new coach if the stand-in coach, Daboere Dokubo, fails to perform as applicants are already scrambling for the vacant position.

The position of the head coach became vacant after the exit of Gbenga Ogunbote, some weeks ago as his former assistant was asked to take charge in the interim.

Reports further said that Ogunbote’s assistants, Daboere Dokubo and Festus Allen, continue as stand-in coaches as the club will monitor their performance before taking a decision on the need for a replacement.

“If Dokubo and Allen succeed, then we will not bother about getting a replacement for Ogunbote.

“However, we will have to consider employing a top-class coach, if the results don’t change. We already have coaches from top flight clubs making enquiries.

“Don’t forget that Dokubo was in charge when the league started as Ogunbote was away due to the incident that happened on the eve of the season,” the club source said.

The Blue Angels is placed 19th on the league table after a 1-1 draw in the Port Harcourt derby against rivals Dolphins on Sunday.
