Seven Energy International Limited, an indigenous Nigerian oil and gas development, production and gas distribution company, has won the Investment in Gas Infrastructure in Sub-Sahara Africa Award at the recent 2015 Sub-Sahara Upstream Oil and Gas Summit and Exhibition in Accra, Ghana.

Commenting on the award, Chief Executive Officer, Seven Energy, Phillip Ihenacho, said, “We are delighted that our efforts are being acknowledged across Africa. This award is in recognition of the role that Seven Energy is playing in the development of Nigeria’s gas resource. Our commitment remains firm in driving and expanding industrialisation in Nigeria through efficient supply of gas to power stations and industrial customers. As a reliable and valued partner of our communities, we will continue to develop Nigeria’s gas resource to generate wealth for the company, our host communities and Nigeria as a whole.”

The Chief Executive Officer of the Sub-Sahara Africa Upstream Oil and Gas Summit, Dapo Ayoola, described the award to Seven Energy as befitting.

According to Ayoola, “The summit celebrates industry leaders who have contributed in unique ways to the growth and sustainability of upstream oil and gas ventures in the sub-Sahara Africa. The award is given in recognition of Seven Energy’s massive investment in unlocking the potentials of Nigeria’s gas market. The Group has recorded a number of successes such as supply of gas to Ibom Power and Calabar NIPP as well as the delivery of gas to Notore Chemical Industries Plc and Unicem cement plant. We are therefore pleased to confer on Seven Energy International the Investment in Gas Infrastructure in Sub-Sahara Africa Award.”

Meanwhile, Seven Energy recently won the Indigenous Firm of the Year Award 2014, conferred on it by the Petroleum Africa magazine in December.
