Lagos – Zachary Baraje, former coach of Plateau United, has challenged the Super Eagles players to replicate their club form on November 12 when the Nigeria plays Algeria in the 2018 World Cup qualifying match in Uyo.
Baraje said that if the Nigerian players would play as they were presently doing in their clubs, Algeria will leave Nigeria with nothing.
While speaking to Independent on Wednesday, the coach said: “I will urge them to remain focused and build on their confidence. I know Algeria will be difficult but we can defeat them.
“The players are doing well in their clubs and I will challenge them to replicate their club form when they play Algeria. If they play or perform they way they are presently doing in their clubs, Algeria will go back with nothing,” Baraje said.
He said that he had no contract at Plateau United, a club he guarded to safety in the just-concluded league season, blaming the general manager of the Jos side for his resignation from the outfit.
“I was not given a contract at Plateau United. May be that was because the general manager never liked me; he did not want me so I have to leave. I was not sacked as you asked but resigned because I was not appreciated despite all the works I put in,” the coach concluded.
