The Speaker, in a statement by his Media Assistant, Abdul-Rahman Sanni, expressed hope that the National Assembly under the leadership of Saraki would serve as the voice of Nigerians, check and balance, and stabilise the nation’s polity.

Ahmad said that the visionary leadership quality of Senator Saraki and his pedigree in politics would help in moving the National Assembly forward, just as he praised the Senators, Nigerians, the Government and people of Kwara State for their support and assured that the Senate President would justify the confidence reposed in him by Nigerians.

He, however, commended President Mohammadu Buhari for allowing the National Assembly to choose its leadership without any interference, pointing out that the emergence was the beginning of the numerous positive changes being anticipated by the teeming Nigerians.
