Saraki Names Principal Officers Of Senate

THE Senate President, Bukola Saraki, during the Thursday June 25, 2015 plenary session announced the names of some principal officers of the Eighth Senate under his watch.

Thus, Mohammed Ali Ndume, Borno, representing North East Senatorial District emerged the Senate Majority leader.

He assumed office immediately after Saraki announced his name as the candidate for the North East, where the position of Senate Leader was zoned to.

Also, Bala Ibn Na’allah, representing Kebbi South, was named the Deputy Senate Leader, while Francis Alimikhena, representing Edo North, assumed the position of Senate Deputy Chief Whip.

However, the office of Senate Chief Whip was not announced following the inability of the South West to produce a name.

The Senate, which resumed plenary on Tuesday, however suspended plenary till July 21.
