An Abuja Federal High Court, on Thursday, summoned the Code of Conduct Bureau (CCB) and the Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCT) over the planned arrangement of Senate President, Bukola Saraki.

The Federal Ministry of Justice had, on September 11, 2015, through the Deputy Director in the office of the Attorney-General of the Federation, M.S Hassan, dragged Saraki to the Code of Conduct Tribunal on a 13- count corruption charge

The Senator was expected to appear before the tribunal today but counsel to Saraki, Mahmud Magaji (SAN), filed an Exparte Motion at the Federal High Court seeking to stop his arraignment.

Justice Ahmed Mohammed, while granting the exparte motion that was argued before him, directed the Bureau and the Tribunal to appear before the court on Monday, September 21, 2015, and show cause why the interim injunction being sought by Saraki should not be granted by the court.

Justice Mohammed also directed that the motion exparte and accompanying affidavit be served the respondents, as well as the hearing notice.

Saraki, in the exparte motion, is praying the court for an order of injunction, restraining the respondents, their offices, servants, agents and/or proxies from taking any further step culminating in arraignment and or preferring a charge against him, pending the hearing and determination of the substantive suit.”
