Operatives of the Rapid Response Squad and the Lagos  State Special Task Force on Environmental Sanitation on Wednesday arrested 93  hoodlums in Oshodi area of the state.

The arrested suspects included three under-aged nursing mothers  and 23 juveniles who were reportedly caught at some of the criminal hideouts.

The renewed onslaught on the hoodlums was part of the efforts to fulfill the commitment of the state governor, Akinwunmi Ambode, to ensure safety of lives and property in the state.

The suspects were reportedly arrested under the popular Oshodi bridge and hideouts of suspected criminals in the neighborhood.

It was  gathered that 46 of them were later arraigned before  a court after preliminary investigations.

The commander of the Rapid Response Squad, Olatunji Disu, who confirmed the arrest of the suspects added that the 23 juveniles and 24 others were still detained at the Task force Office as at Wednesday evening.

Disu also stated that the clampdown  exercise  would continue as part of the efforts to rid every part of the state of criminals.

On those who were still being held, the RRS commander said that the police would charge them to court or release them after investigation.

He also added that the Ministry of Women Affairs and Poverty alleviation as well as the Ministry of Education had been invited to assess the juveniles and the nursing mothers on ways to develop them.
