Police in Kubwa, a suburb of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), have recovered a black colored Toyota Corolla car from suspected robbers along Arab Road.

The robbers who are engaged in car theft, Daily Independent gathered, had removed the vehicle from where it was packed around Phase 1V area of the town.

The source said the owner of the car who packed it to visit a friend could not believe his eyes when he came out few minutes later to find his car missing.

“He was apparently crying like a baby and nearly slumped if not for the quick intervention of the friend and other neighbors who not only consoled him, but also assisted him in getting in touch with the police,” the source added.

According to the source, the police immediately swung into action, and while raiding the entire area, cited the suspects and gave them a hot chase.

Daily Independent, however, learnt that the robbers on citing the police, suddenly stopped and jumped inside the bush, abandoning the vehicle on the road.

The Kubwa Divisional Police Officer (DPO), Nurrudeen Sabo, while confirming the case, said it was the prompt report of the incident that led to the immediate recovery of the vehicle.

Sabo who further disclosed that the car had since been handed over to the owner, called on the public to assist the police by reporting any information to the force as soon as possible to ensure efficient service delivery.
