Ejikeme Omenazu, Lagos
Oladele Falade, Nation Chairman, Mega Progressive  People ‘s Party(MPPP) has urged  President  Muhammadu Buhari to partner with  Governor Nyesom  Wike of Rivers towards ensuring a violence-free polls in Rivers.

Speaking with Independent, he said that what played out between former President Goodluck Jonathan and Rotimi Amaechi, now Minister of Transport   in Rivers state is repeating itself between President Buhari and Governor Wike.

He attributed the killings in Rivers re-run election to the fact that both the President and the Rivers governor seem to be walking on parallel lines stressing that Nigeria is not about People s Democratic Party (PDP)  and All Progressives Congress(APC) alone as there are several political parties in the country.

He also wondered why Buhari and Wike cannot work together when the national interest is at stake
“If the President cannot work in synergy with the governor, elections cannot be better than what you saw in rivers state.
“Look at the killings. It is because the governor and the President are from different parties.  Before the election did Wike have access to Buhari? “Why should there be killing in a House Of Representatives or Senate election? When this people are elected, they run to Abuja and rarely come home to see the people who elected them.
” Rivers people should not allow themselves to be messed up. Every election is localised. Election is about choices and not about killing,” Falade concluded.
