Rep Decries Killings By Cultists In Ijebu

A member of the House of Representatives _representing Ijebu North,Ijebu-East and Ogun Waterside in the, Hon. Segun Adekoya has decried  the spate of killings by  cult groups in Ago-Iwoye and Ijebu axis. He disclosed that two persons were killed on Sunday and Monday evening in different parts of the town.

It was gathered that violence broke out between two rival cult groups at the university town of Ago-Iwoye on Sunday claiming two persons within two days.

This incident happened barely 72-hours after the State Police Command said it had arrested no fewer than 30 suspected cultists terrorising Ijebu axis of the state.

The lawmaker stated further that he had informed the State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Valentine Ntomchukwu and the Area Commander of Ago-Iwoye about the two incidents.

Adekoya, however, charged all security agencies to brace up and arrest any cult member disturbing the peace of the state.  His words: “The activities of rival cult groups in Ago-Iwoye in recent times were heart breaking. A suspected member of a particular cult group was cut down on Sunday while another was equally killed in retaliation for the previous day’s incident.”
