The movie

Reality, produced by Dozie Eboh, and shot in locations across Lagos and Imo States, is the story of a young girl called Chioma who left her village in South East Nigeria to the city to stay with an aunt who has been very helpful to the family after the death of their father.

With a heart full of joy and gratitude, Chioma saw this as an opportunity to make her family back in the village proud and to have a feel of the contemporary society, which she has heard so much about. At the back of her mind was an innate desire to be a model character to the society, which she hopes to achieve by through the medical profession, as she intends to become a Medical Doctor.

This dream was, however, truncated as the city turned out to be her worst nightmare. She saw her dreams shatter right before her, as the dark side of life tore through her, leaving her with unforgettable scares.

It’s a movie to watch that will leave your eyes so wet and heart falling out for the child abuse syndrome happening in the society, especially for the girl child.



22-year-old Lisa Ekwueme would be making her entrance into Nollywood with a lead role, as she acts Chioma, the lead character in this movie. The final year student of Nutrition and Dietetics at Imo State University and native of Obowo in Imo State, currently resides with her parents in Imo State.




Abia State born Graduate of Theatre Arts from Lagos State University (LASU), played the role of a teacher in the secondary school attended by Chioma.

Okoro, who played Mr. George in the movie, took Chioma and other students on a subject relating to child slavery, which endeared him to Chioma who incidentally was going through similar situation in her aunt’s house.

The actor who has been in Nollywood for over 15 yrs, has featured in many high profile movies like Blood Diamonds, Broad Day Light, Explotion, Beauty and The Beast, among others.


ikeOgechi Obilonu popularly known as Nwanyi Owerri, hails from Imo State. She played the role of Mama Chioma (Chioma’s mother) in the movie. Obilonu has been acting since 1993, and has featured in over 100 Nollywood movies like August meeting, Onyeze, Captain, and many others.




Actor, producer, costumier with over 18 years working experience in Nollywood and over 100 movies to her credit, played the villain character of Mama sandy, Chioma’s aunty in the movie. She is from Arondizuogu in Imo state.


Popularly known as Joyhil, played Amanda, Chioma’s closest friend at school in the movie. Born in Kano State, the Imo State born actor is currently studying Mass Communication at the Victoria Island, Lagos campus of the National Open University (NOUN). Her acting career started in 2006 and has acted in numerous movies and dramas like Days of madnessm, Yahoo girls, Maga Don pay, Ritual killers among others. She was a finalists in the Season 2 of the New Nigerian Diva, a reality Television contest/series by Viewtrend entertainment. She has also featured in many musical videos for artistes like Splash, X2, Romeo and others.


The graduate of English and Literary studies from the University of Abuja, and Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Smiles Foundation, was Hotel Manager in the movie.  She was also a finalist in Season 2 of New Nigerian Diva reality/beauty contest.





Edo State born Cynthia Otebor played the role of Chioma’s younger sister in the movie. Reality would be the fourth Nollywood movie for the young actress popularly known as Derigo. She, however, seems most excited about the story line of the movie, as she confessed that it gave her the opportunity to appreciate the plight of the rural Nigerian girl-child, which has fired her desire to fight for the right to good for the girl-child.
