President-elect, General Muhammadu Buhari (rtd), has been enjoined to relaunch War Against Indiscipline (WAI) and use it to stamp out corruption in the country.

The call was made by the Bishop of Egba Diocese, Church of Nigeria (Anglican Communion), Rt. Rev. Emmanuel Oludaisi Adekunle, while addressing journalists at a press conference heralding the third session of the 13th Synod of the diocese held at the Bishop’s Court, Onikolobo, Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital.

The cleric said Buhari must prepare to work and reduce corruption which has been the fundamental problem of our country.

He further charged him to see the ‘change’ mantra beyond mere slogan or change from one party to another, noting that Nigerians expect him to make masses-oriented policies and programmes that would alleviate poverty in the country.

“Buhari and Osibanjo are indeed a good thing to happen to Nigeria. No doubt, much will be expected from the team and they must ensure that Nigeria is rescued from the abyss of corruption and immorality.

“They should put up their best and not under perform, and let the ‘change’ be executed beyond mere slogan,” the bishop said.

Adekunle, however, implored the president-elect to trim down appointments to reduce cost and to look beyond APC in choosing people that would work with him.

He stressed that Nigerians with integrity, service, industry and patriotism should be searched for and appointed.
