Lagos – Imama Amapakabo, Enugu Rangers coach, believes that the club stands a chance of winning the 2016 Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) and end the over three decades of a trophiless campaing, despite losing to Nasarawa United 1-0 on Sunday.

Rangers dropped to fourth on the league table after thew loss with IfeanyiUba taking advantage of their 1-0 home of Wikki Tourists of Bauchi to place third.

Speaking on Monday, Amapakabo sounded confident that team would pull the plug against Wikki, assuring that they were still on course for the title.

“We are still very much on course for the league title,” he said.

“What is the point between us and Wikki? It is just two and you will agree with me that this season’s campaign has been one of the most challenging.

“All we need to do is to remain focused and the league will be won. I trust my players; they can do it, so there is no cause to worry. It is unfortunate that we are fourth on the table; that happens sometimes, so we are not bothered,” the coach said.

At the weekend, Rangers will be at home to another title challenger, Rivers United, in a match that promises to be explosive.
