Paul Ozo Chibuzor, General Manager (GM,) Enugu Rangers International FC, says the team needs a psychologist to work on their mentality in goal scoring.
The GM said recently that the team has lost many away victories following the players’ act of complacency which demands psychological attention.
The worrisome situation the GM said should be nipped in the bud if the club’s league target must be actualised at the end of the season.
“Each time Rangers takes a lead in any game, the players tend to relax believing that the game is over; they will start defending immediately instead of attacking.
“It is even more worrisome as the attackers will even fail to take advantage of opportunities coming their way. They will only wake up from their slumber if their opponents equalise and even take the lead.”
The GM said, “Against Kano Pillars at the start of the league in Kano, it happened; against Abia Warriors in Umuahia, it happened; against MFM in Lagos, it also happened. These are the few I can remember.”
Against this backdrop, the GM said that, “It is a bad football philosophy and I strongly believed that the players need a psychologist to work on their mentality.”
