The racial abuse of three Nigerian students in Scotland is beginning to generate ‘storm’ as police step in to investigate the incident. They were racially abused and assaulted as part of a “crime spree” in Stirling City of Scotland. The incident happened at Cowane Street and Wallace Street, which is a popular area for student accommodation.

After the assault on the Nigerian students was interrupted by a member of the public, the two assailants then launched another unprovoked attack on two students who happened to be in the area, one of whom was a 19-year-old girl.

The first incident began when two men started following the three male students along the street shouting racial abuses, before trying to goad them into a fight.

When the three victims refused to engage, one of the assailants threw a pint glass at them and assaulted one of the victims by pushing him and kicking him on the legs.

The assault only ended because a member of the public stopped his vehicle and got out to offer assistance to the victims.

The first incident happened on Saturday, April 25, at around 9.10pm.

The two culprits then entered nearby Bruce Street and assaulted two more students in another unprovoked assault.

A 19-year-old female was attacked as she entered a common close in a bid to try and flee the men.

Police are appealing for anyone who witnessed the incidents to come forward. They are especially keen to trace the man who stepped in to help the Nigerian victims.

Inspector Jim Young of Forth Valley Police said: “The behaviour of these two males is very concerning. They were first noticed in Viewfield Street and they then entered Cowane Street where they have started their crime spree.

“Due to one having a pint glass in his hand it is likely they have been in a local pub before this and we are currently checking licensed premises and CCTV to identify them.

“They have targeted everyone they have come across including a female. Due to the time of night and city centre location someone will have seen them and know who they are.

“I am appealing for witnesses to come forward and help identify them.”

One of the attackers is described as white, approximately 20-22 years old, 6ft tall, of slim build, with short dark hair and he was wearing a maroon top at the time.

The other man is described as white, approximately 20-22 years old, 5ft 8in tall, of medium to slim build and was wearing a white shirt, a white hooded top and light blue jeans.
