Members of a civil society group in Edo State, Network  of Civil Society Organisations of Nigeria (NOCSON) have accused Dr Osagie Enahire , the Minister of State for Health, of exhibiting a nonchalant attitude to the crisis presently rocking the Federal Neuro-Psychiatric Hospital, Uselu in the state.

The group, acting on behalf of aggrieved staff of the hospital, accused the facility’s Medical Director, Dr Sunday Osasu Olotu of several infractions including a refusal to vacate office even when his tenure has since elapsed last March.

They threatened to occupy the facility if by 48hours the embattled Dr. Olotu has not vacated office.

Abraham Oviawe , president of the group, while addressing a press briefing, stated that the 48 hours ultimatum for Olotu to vacate office is the best they could permit in the circumstances.

He also called on anti-corruption agencies to focus their investigation on the hospital, alleging  that there was high level of corruption and fraud in the place.

In his reaction, Olotu told journalists on Saturday  that the allegations against him were false.

He said that enquiries made by NOCSON was adequately responded to, adding that the group should investigate issues before making public statements just as he said he was answerable to the minister and President Muhammadu Buhari.

He claimed that he has a letter from the Federal Government mandating him to continue in acting capacity until a letter of confirmation is issued.
