“Be Proactive In The Discharge Of Your Duties”, Ogidi-Gbegbaje Urges Workers

As 2016 rolls in, the staff of the Directorate of Government House and Protocol yesterday [05-01-16] ushered in the new working year with dedication, praises and prayers to God  just as the Permanent Secretary, Mr. Eddy Ogidi-Gbegbaje charged them to be proactive and organised in the discharge of their duties.

The staff of the Directorate who gathered at a Thanksgiving session/meeting at the Unity Hall, Government House, Asaba gave praises to God for seeing them through the previous year and dedicated all their activities this year to God Almighty.

Addressing the staff, Mr. Ogidi-Gbegbaje said that despite the challenges of the previous year, the staff have every reason to thank God this new year stressing that they needed to be pro-active and be time conscious in the discharge of their duties.

” It is necessary for us to meet as a group to thank God for bring us to the new year, we have made some resolutions and one important one we need to make as workers is to get ourselves organized, manage our time well and prioritise our needs in order to be effective in our duties” he advised asserting that ” When we resume work early we will have time to settle down before beginning the days’ job.”

The Permanent Secretary appealed to workers to take their career seriously and ensure that they complete their enrolment in the on-going Biometrics exercise to avoid the loss of their salaries and jobs.

  While frowning at indiscipline among staff, Mr. Ogidi-Gbegbaje admonished them to make respect for constituted authority their watchword and advised them to follow the right channel in pursuing their needs and grievances.

He promised to tackle the issues of staff welfare, working equipments and accommodation  for staff vigorously this year so as to ensure that workers do their work effectively.
