Emmanuel Amuneke, Flying Eagles coach, has revealed that normal training has resumed following the arrival of invited players to the team’s camp for the U-21 Africa Cup of Nations first leg qualifiers qualifier against Burundi in May.

It will be recalled that the former Under 17 coach earlier invited 30 players to camp for the first leg of the qualifiers against Burundi in May.

Burundi would have played Democratic Republic of Congo in the first round but the Congolese withdrew from the qualifiers, leaving the East Africans to qualify automatically, where it will meet Nigeria for a place at the U-21 Africa Cup of Nations in Zambia in 2017. Nigeria, who is the defending champion, was drawn by in the first round.

“I thank God that some of the invited players have arrived the camp. That has made it easier for us to commence preparation in earnest for the qualifier against Burundi.

“You know when you have full house, it will make the job easier, so we are still expecting other players to join us very soon,” he said.

“The most important thing right now is that full preparation has started and the players are responding well, which is also one good point to the whole issue.”
