Police Special Squad Arrests 67 Suspects Cultists in Edo

THE recent intervention of the Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Solomon Arase, in the cultism-related violent crimes in Edo State has started to yield positive results has so far arrested 67 suspects.
According to a statement issued by the Force Public Relations Officer (FPRO), Emmanuel Ojukwu, in Abuja on Thursday, May 14, 2015, the Special Crack Squad designated for the assignment, has arrested 11 people suspected to be ring leaders of cult groups in the state.

Ojukwu added that through rigorous intelligence, the team had rounded up 56 people linked to the recent cult related violence in the state, who he said, were undergoing interrogation.
Ojukwu said that the IGP had reiterated that no criminal would be spared, no matter how highly placed.

He stressed that the Police High Command appreciated the collaborative efforts of the members of the public, particularly in Edo State, on the achievement of the Special Crack Squad.
He assured that adequate measures would continue to be put in place to ensure safety of lives and property, nationwide
